Results from Adaptation Working Group meeting

Shall we merge adaptation and mitigation working groups? This question was the main outcome of today's talks. This merger was pushed forward by Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary.

The distinguished representative of Bangladesh proposed three crucial points which are as follows:


  1. Green climate fund and Adaptation Fund are combined if an independent administration is provided.
  2. Division of financing shall be set and agreed upon.
  3. There should be legally binding guarantees for historic pledges.

Latest opinions:
Developed countries have already made commitments but never delivered results. - Tuvalu

2% of GDP should go into Adaptation Fund. - Bangladesh 
Update: Chinese stands vary significantly in the three groups. Is there a common voice of the People's Republic of China?
